Meeting Minutes
January 10, 2016
The Ashland Youth Ball Association Board of Directors Meeting for November 2015 was called to order by President John Keith in the ACRC Conference Room. All votes during meeting are noted in these minutes in italics.
Present: John Keith (President), Dave Nygren (treasurer), Mark Adel (co-vp/baseball/Legion), Nate Tonjes (vp/softball), Russ Westerhold (co-vp/baseball/Legion), Bob Crisler (secretary), Brian Miller.
Community members: Doug Whitehead, Kristina Ryan
Approval of Documents
John presented December 2015 Meeting Minutes. (Dave 1st, Russ 2nd, approved).
Dave Nygren presented the Treasurers Report. $3,500 volunteer checks cashed. (Brian 1st, Nate 2nd, approved)
Old Business
CONCESSION STAND - John indicated that construction is nearing completion; a few finish items left.
WEBSITE – New website is up at ashlandayba.org; taking online registrations. John to check on signups status.
SLUMPBUSTER – New Slumpbuster tournament June 15-30; overlapping CWS. Discussed, then voted to issue invitation for Slumpbusters to use fields pending negotiation to be led by John. (Dave 1st, Bob 2nd, approved; Mark Adel abstained.)
New Business
WEBSITE – John explained and demonstrated the new Blue Sombrero website to those present. Open discussion held with many questions, comments and suggestions. John and Nate will work on website to get ready for on-line registrations.
REGISTRATIONS – Doug Whitehead offered to send reminders. Legion registrations to be taken separately from regular signups. 2 more signup events; Jan. 19 and Feb 5.

Baseball –
Cass County league fees stay the same. Season stars May 9. One rule change: age cutoff is Jan. 1.
Legion subcommittee will meet next month.
Select baseball will be funded up to $400 to help defray costs of one tournament a year. (Dave 1st, Russ 2nd, approved.)
Softball – After much discussion about moving players up in age groups to more competitive levels, motion to adopt Jan. 1 as registration date of record and standardized language to indicate players available to move up. (Bob 1st, Dave 2nd, approved.)
Discussed weekend player clinics for softball players in MPR.
FACILITIES DEVELOPMENT – Further discussions need to be held on future of Jack Anderson Ball Park.
