The AYBA will be holding tryouts for a 2020 USSSA 9U team (kid pitch) on Monday, July 8th at Field A.  In following the lead of past teams, selections will be based primarily on evaluation from coaches during 2019 coach pitch season along with the tryout session on Monday, July 8th.  Criteria being used to make these selections include, in no order of importance:

-Attendance for games & practices

-Coachability: paying attention, behavior & improving based on coach's feedback

-Baseball Skills: hitting, fielding, throwing, running & understanding of baseball concepts

Players must still be 9 year old or younger on May 1st, 2020 OR be entering the 3rd grade in the fall of 2019.  This will be a significant time & financial commitment.  Players will be expected to attend all practices & games arriving on time.  Practices may begin in the fall of 2019 & then again in February or March of 2020.  Games will begin in April.  We are planning to play at least 25-30 games (which could include some tournaments).  This will be a competitive team so playing time will not be equal for all players.  The cost for this team could range between $300-$500 per player.

Any players not named to a USSSA team would still have the option to play in the Cass County 8U or 10U leagues depending on their birthdate.
