Friday night I had the opportunity to watch one of the best ball games ever played at Jack Anderson Ballpark. The Ashland 14U “town team” vs Ashland 13U “select team”. The fine young men and the coaches from both teams left it all in the field. Kids that passed each other in the hallway during school held NOTHING back against one another. They younger boys wanted nothing more than to upset their older friends and the bigger boys weren’t going to have it. The result was not from a lack of effort and its too bad there has to be a winning team and a losing team. A fine group played for nothing more than bragging rights. My hat is off to all the players and coaches for one heck of a show.
